Hello, I need help learning Chinese. I did study it for 3 months while here in Taiwan, but I need to improve more to keep a conversation going.
As I'm working part-time I'd prefer not to pay too much.
Hi.
I'm American, living in Taipei now.
I'd like to study Chinese with a tutor. I can already read, write and speak a little, but I'd like to improve. Focus is on daily conversation practice: pronunciation, grammar, natural phrases.
You don't have to prepare for lessons.
You don't have to speak English. All communication between us will be in Chinese, with no English. (I originally wrote this ad in Chinese as well, but tealit admin made me re-write it in English. They told me they only accept English-language ads in the section for people looking for Chinese-language tutors).
I'd love to hear from anyone who is interested in helping me learn conversation skills in Chinese. The most important requirements are patience, positive attitude, and desire to help a foreigner learn Chinese. Advanced university degree is not necessary.
Students are ok.
I prefer to meet in mornings. We can meet in the city center, at cafes near MRT station.
If you're interested, please send me an email (in Chinese) to: [email protected]
Thank you.

Hi Chinese Teachers,
At the end of 2014 I will be staying in Taiwan for a month. I need a teacher who can teach intermediate to advanced level Chinese. My speaking and comprehension are all pretty good. I’m hoping to improve my writing and ability to construct more complicated Chinese sentences.
I expect the whole class to be instructed in Chinese. So if you love speaking English in your lessons please DON’T contact me. Only professional Chinese teachers, this would really suit a dedicated Chinese literature teacher at a Taiwanese high school. I am proficient at Traditional & Simplified Chinese as well as knowing both Hanyu Pinyin & Zhuyin FuHao phonetic systems. So if you can’t use pinyin or read simplified Chinese it doesn’t matter and you can still apply to teach me.
Please send me an Email IN CHINESE outlining your qualifications and experience as well as expected hourly rate.
Looking forward to finding a dedicated and professional Chinese Teacher.
Regards
David

I'm looking for an experienced tutor of Chinese to meet twice a week for an hour (maybe more). I have the book Audio Visual Chinese 1 so I'm happy to work through that. I work long hours so I would need someone to meet me near my school in my lunchbreak, preferably Mondays and Thursdays 11.45-12.45. I work by Jiannan Road station on the brown line.

Greetings,
I am looking for a tutor to improve my speaking and reading.
I have lived in Asia for two years but I have never studied Mandarin so my vocabulary and pronunciation is pretty poor. I would also like to read and if possible even write. I have the "Practical audio visual Chinese" level 1 book and I would like to follow it. I would like to meet a tutor one or twice a week for an hour or so to go over units and practice speaking. I also really want a tutor to keep me motivated and on track.
I am a native English speaker and I also speak Spanish so I am open to a language exchange but I want this to be a serious learning endeavor. I do not need a tutor who speaks English as I think we can get by with the book and some limited vocabulary. Like I said mainly looking to study with someone dedicated and motivated.
I am available in the evenings after 5 during the week.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Cheers
Hello, my name is Laura. I have been living in Taiwan for a little over a year now and I would really like some more local friends and to improve my Mandarin ability. Here is a little be about myself. I'm in my mid twenties and have been working as an English teacher. I'm also a huge fan of kpop, tokusatsu, comic books, and adventure. I'm available Thursday nights and all day most Sundays.
I'm now attending the International Chinese Language Program at NTU, and I'm looking for a tutor for extra practice with my vocabulary and sentence structures. I live between Guting and Taipower Building MRT stations and I'd like to meet for an hour in the evening (ideally 6 to 7pm), two or three times a week. No preparation or marking homework is necessary and I will provide all materials (e.g. no work is required outside class times.)
An undergrad majoring in teaching Chinese would be ideal. Please email me detailing your background and your required pay.
Hello,
I'm looking for a Mandarin teacher to help me progress with my Chinese Speaking and Reading. I'm looking for a teacher who can commit to 1.5 hours twice a week on a Monday, Wednesday, or Thursday evening. I live in the Guting MRT area and do not want to travel for lessons, so you would have to meet me. I'm currently using Book II of the Practical Audio-Visual Chinese book, but I don't want to just go through that book. I need a teacher that has the time to prepare exercises and drills that allow for plenty of speaking practice and repetition. I work full-time, so I don't have a lot of opportunities to practice speaking. I would love your help, if you think you can do the job! I am willing to pay $NT 750/1.5 hr lesson, so $NT 1500/week. Lessons would likely start from 6:30-8:00 or 7:00-8:30.
Hi
Looking for a Mandarin teacher for morning 1 to 1 class in the mornings during the week near Dongmen. I am looking for 2 to 4 hours per week and at a price less then 500 nt per hour.
Look forward to hearing from you :)
I have a basic understanding of Chinese pronunciation rules, pinyin, and a small vocabulary of words I can understand and use but need more focus in my study to help me improve my Chinese speaking and listening with more efficiency. I would also like to learn some characters but understand that speaking and listening are most important to me right now.
Hi there, I'm a 29-year-old Aussie guy studying this semester at Fu Jen University Language Center. I was after a tutor for a daily 1-hour session from Monday to Friday. This might suit a student living on campus. I have classes in the morning so am free from 1. Focus would be on conversation and consolidating what I’m learning in Practical Audio-Visual Chinese book 3.
Qualifications aren’t important but if you could email me your price that’d be great as have to look at how far I can stretch the scholarship. ☺ Cheers.

Hello. My name is Jason. I'm 30 years old from America (and I think I’m a pretty nice guy). I recently arrived in Taipei after being in China for 6 months. I think that my Chinese is low intermediate level (but maybe I'm wrong lol). I'm an okay speaker when it comes to simple ideas (can get around fine usually) but I have problems when trying to express more complicated thoughts. In other words, I know a decent amount of vocab but oftentimes I can’t connect everything. My reading is okay and I type with friends in Chinese sometimes (using Hanyu pinyin), but my actual writing stinks and my accent/tones could definitely use some work. By the way, I know that improving writing is important to the other skills and I have started to work on this recently. I have had a very small amount of formal class, but mostly I have taught myself Chinese so my grammar is awful. I know I will never be completely fluent in Chinese, but I would like to get to a point where I can have a conversation with someone at dinner, at work, at a party, etc (and have people understand me). I think my goals are reasonable. I am really more interested in how people speak in real life, rather than “textbook” speak.
Basically, I need someone to help me figure out a plan to make this happen. I am looking for someone who:
1. Has worked with foreigners before
2. Can suggest a study plan and materials
3. Can actually commit to meeting 1x – 2x per week in the morning from around 10AM – 12PM around ShiDa/Taipower area.
4. Fluent in Hanyu pinyin. I know this is Taiwan and that it’s not your writing system, but it doesn’t make sense for me to learn Zhuyin at this point – I’m just too far along. I’m sorry if this is offensive. I do, however, want to study traditional characters ☺
If you are interested in working with me, please send me a message and tell me a little bit about yourself and your experience. If you could mention any recommendations for a study plan, this would be great too. I’m not looking for anything elaborate, just a couple sentences so I know what you’re doing. I’m not super high maintenance. Please also include your hourly rate. I will be looking for 1.5 – 2 hours per time. Probably 1 time per week to begin with and then increasing to 2 times per week if/when it makes sense.
Hello, I thought I had a tutor prepared and ready to go starting this week, but at the last moment he cancelled the class because of a new job. Anyway, I'm looking for a tough teacher who can help me learn Chinese. I am mostly interested in someone who will be available for 6 months or more because I want to make this a long-term class.
I am looking for an experienced teacher to teach me written Chinese. Someone with a background in Traditional Chinese Medicine or Chinese literature and have an understanding of Chinese etymology would be preferred.
We're two English teachers who've just moved to Taipei and are looking to improve our Chinese skills. We're both absolute beginners and want to use our two hour lunch break to take up Chinese lessons. Our lunch break is between 11:30 and 1:30, but ideally we would like to have an hour long lesson between 12 and 1 twice a week.
We'd be happy to meet in a cafe or somewhere similar for the lesson.

Hi,
I'm looking for a Mandarin Chinese and Taiwanese tutor. I already take a formal class, so I would like to have an informal conversation class. I would like a teacher who can help me with pronunciation and correct my bad habits.
You don't have to be a very experienced teacher, but you should have excellent pronunciation and it would be great if you were interested in news/current events.
