I have decided that I have been in Taiwan too long and my knowledge of the language is pitiful. I would like a serious teacher who is able to meet with me three times a week pref on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon and Saturday afternoon. I'm near a starter level. learning goal: having a casual conversation time: weekdays after 5 location: Shipai, Tien Mu, or Danshui I came to Taiwan one month ago, and I already love it a lot. I want to learn useful Chinese so that I can socialize with my friends, go shopping at the night market, travel, and eat local foods. I am also interested in learning Taiwanese for these same reasons, so I would like a tutor who can speak both. I am not a student, so I'm not concerned with being the most technically perfect speaker. I just want to be able to understand others, be understood, and have fun conversations. You don't need the best qualifications. I think having a friendly, warm personality is more important. I would like it if you could recommend a text book for me. When we get to know each other better, I would like to try to do some destination learning. For example, we go to the night market, and you teach me a phrase for how to ask for stinky tofu, then I say it. Real life experience. Let's start with one hour one time a week, and we can add more time if it works well. Monday thru Thursday, after 17:00 in Tien Mu or near Shipai station, or after 18:00 near Danshui station or TKU are the most convenient locations and times for me.

Hello, I am a graduate student from the USA. I am in Taiwan to do research for my PhD dissertation on Chinese literature. So I've already spent several years studying Mandarin and Classical Chinese. I am looking for a tutor to help me speak more fluently and with fewer grammatical mistakes, so that I can use Chinese to discuss my research with other students and scholars. Since I am always in the library studying, my speaking skills are not improving as much as I would like. It would be great to find a tutor with a lot of knowledge or interest in premodern Chinese literature, but not required. I study at NTU, but I am able to go anywhere in Taipei as long as it's near the MRT.

Hello, I am looking for a tutor to help me learn Mandarin. I'll be in Taipei for at least one year, and I want to learn as much Mandarin as possible while I'm here! I studied a bit of Mandarin on my own back in California but I'm very much a beginner still. I live right by Zhishan MRT station in Taipei and would like to meet with a tutor once or twice a week on weekdays before I go to work in the late afternoon (I work at 3 PM Monday, 4:30 PM Tuesday and Thursday.
