I am an American teacher living in Tainan who would like to learn and practice Chinese. I am a beginner so would mostly like to focus on listening and speaking to start. It would be great to practice conversation which I can use in everyday life in Taiwan.

Hi. We are a British couple visiting our daughter and her Taiwanese husband in NuanNuan in April. We are looking for a tutor to give us lessons in conversational Mandarin. We would like two two-hour sessions a week during April, in NuanNuan or in a district that can easily be reached by train. We already have some course books, 'A course in contemporary Chinese', published by the Mandarin Training Centre of National Taiwan Normal University.

Hi, I'm Mark. I am recently returning to Taipei after almost a decade in the States. I am looking for a language exchange or language classes with someone interested in things I am interested in — film, writing, education, arts. I’ve been teaching film arts and humanities in the university in Taiwan and the States since the late nineties (in English). Once upon a time, I was nominated for a Golden Bell and Golden Horse award in Taiwan. Also at one point, several years ago, I could read and write about 200 Chinese characters (that's down to about five now). I would like to improve my speaking/listening in Mandarin, and in exchange I can offer a great deal of English educational expertise and film/art experience (if we go the language exchange route). If we go the Mandarin-class route, I am interested in classes that assess my level, strengths and weaknesses in spoken-Chinese, perhaps some help in selecting materials and resources for self-study, and interesting conversation in film, arts, everyday life, and life in Taipei.

I have lived in Taiwan for 3 years, I originally studied Chinese at NTU for 6 months, and after that was studying with a tutor for the last two years or so. I came to Taiwan from March-August 2022 to learn Chinese and decided to stay to improve my language ability further. However, as I am now working at a cram school, I don't have much time to study. Interested in someone that can help me prepare for 大陆汉语水平考试/HSK 5. For now, I am interested to take this test. Maybe in the future I will consider taking the Taiwan equivalent. This test will be in simplified characters and there is a computer version so it's convenient. Also, maybe someone can help me choose some good books to read (简体字）
