I've been in Taiwan for seven years and up until recently had little reason to speak the language. I was married to a Taiwanese who spoke fluent English and did not get out of the house much. After my marriage, I had to learn as much as I could as it made getting around Taipei far simpler. Since then, I have learned some very basic phrases...but I need to extend my capabilities as quickly and as naturally as possible. I've started a business and it is absolutely imperative that I learn how to communicate with my customers. I am looking for someone who is experienced in teaching Chinese in Taichung, Taiwan.

I have 188 class contact hours from NSYSU and want to continue reading/listening/speaking Chinese, face-to- face on a one-to-one basis for six hours a week (e.g. two hours, three times a week) for a month, maybe more. I **think** I am at elementary level - somewhere between A2 and A3 - although I am happy to be corrected on this. I can provide my own textbook or the tutor can. Hi there teachers, I'm a British man, teacher by trade - I really enjoy teaching and currently teach children English, History and Science. I've lived in Taiwan for 8 years in Tainan, Taitung, Kaohsiung, and Hualian. I just finished 10 months at the language center at Tzu Chi University in Hualian. I've taken a new job in Tucheng (teaching) and luckily I also I have time to study. I was really hoping to improve on the hard work of the last year at Tzu Chi and keep developing my Chinese reading, writing, speaking and listening. I'm looking for a dedicated and professional teacher who will help me keep pushing and developing. I'm keen for extra homework, especially if you don't mind marking it. Hey, My name is Sean. I'm originally from Ireland but I have been living in Taiwan for about two years. I'm looking for a Chinese tutor who is available either Wednesday or Friday afternoons. I've been taking evening classes for a while and I'd describe myself as a lower intermediate student, but the language doesn't come easy to me so I'm hoping to find a tutor who can give me some additional help. I particularly struggle when it comes to listening. I work in Dingxi and live near Guting but any location around Taipei City or Yonghe and Zhonghe in New Taipei is okay too! I'm currently studying the beginning of ShiDa's "A Course in Contemporary Chinese" Book 3. So it would be great if I could find a teacher who is familiar with ShiDa's material. We are looking for a Chinese tutor who can come to the area around Xihu MRT station in Neihu three afternoons a week to tutor a 6th grade American native English speaker who is attending a local Taiwanese school for part of the day. We would need you to come Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday sometime between noon and 4pm. This would be at least 1 hour each of those days, potentially more based on our discussion of what she needs. Please read in full before responding! :) Looking for a Chinese tutor/teacher who can travel to: SHULIN, NTC 2-3x a week AFTER 5:30 pm DURING WEEKDAYS (M-F). Yes, Shulin is outside of MRT range. I would really like to stay in Taiwan long-term but realized it won't be possible without some basic language ability. I would like to learn useful things, like reading menus and street signs, being able to call and schedule appointments, basic everyday conversation, and some basic classroom vocabulary so I can communicate better with students. I don't need to be fully conversational or read newspapers, etc, but just enough to live comfortably here and not always be confused :) If we could go out and USE what you teach me, even better. We are in Taiwan for several months. We are currently in Taipei. We are a French/American family who live normally in Vancouver, Canada. We would like a tutor who can spend 3 hours per day with 3 kids. Ideally, if you know French that would be a bonus since our kids do online school in French. We would like a combination of formal learning i.e. books and then a lot of practical time in the streets and/or playing games in Mandarin (cards, monopoly). Ours kids interest is in dance i.e. hip hop, break dance.

I'm an English Teacher who has lived in Taiwan and has an inexcusably poor level of Mandarin. I am seeking an Instructor to meet at least twice a week for over and hour, on a regular, consistent schedule. I want to seriously and drastically improve my conversational Chinese.
