I specialize in pronunciation. It is likely that your English is pretty decent. Good for you! Maybe you have amassed an impressive vocabulary over the years. And just perhaps, like many people in Taiwan, you have substandard English pronunciation habits that you just cannot seem to fix no matter how hard you try. That is where I come in.
You will be doing about 80% of the talking in a class with me. Sometimes it is fun, and sometimes it is not. This is because there is work to be done in correcting your pronunciation. Correcting faulty pronunciation habits that are deeply ingrained is not an easy task, and requires that you, the student, put in the required effort and develop new habits. Muscles and neural pathways need to be retrained and discovered. It CAN be done, and I can provide the guidance to get you to your language goals.
While I do specialize in pronunciation, I am also experienced in all other facets of English instruction. I will help you put all of that book-learning, TV and movie-watching together for you. Whether you seek to hone your skills in English for business, or you have another specific purpose I can put together a plan with you. If you are ready and willing, let us put those years of dodgy pronunciation behind us once and for all.
I understand that this ad carries a serious tone and that there are some people who do not want any form of pressure in a class. I do not inflict an undue amount of pressure on a student, but if you want your class to be completely free of pressure, this is not the class for you. I am actually quite agreeable and easy to work with as long as our goals are aligned.
NOTE: I do not accept students under 16 years of age.
I have spent most of my life on the east coast of the United States. I graduated high school outside Washington D.C. in Alexandria Virginia, at T.C. Williams High School. I attended Temple University in Philadelphia PA, while serving in the United States Air Force Reserves. I graduated with a bachelors of science in education, specializing in elementary education. After completing my university training, I received teaching certifications from the states of Florida and Virginia.
I spent several years teaching in Florida and Virginia. In Florida, I taught at Eckerd Youth Alternatives in Clewiston Florida. I instructed judicated youth through life skill education in an outdoor life and team building skills environment. I spent the next two years teaching at Eastside Elementary School. I was the special education teacher for grades one through five in a self-contained classroom. The class consisted of a team teaching environment served by mainstream and specialty teachers working closely to build effective goals and expectations for students in an unique working environment. Upon leaving Florida, I relocated to Virginia and taught at Walker Grant Middle School. I taught special education for sixth grade in a self-contained classroom, and assisted with eighth grade math.
In 2007, I was offered a teaching position in Toyohashi Japan instructing multiple grade levels in EAL. Then in 2009, I accepted a position in Yokohama Japan teaching at Horizon Japan International School. I was the third grade homeroom teacher. My responsibilities included teaching language arts and social studies, and all homeroom responsibilities. I was also responsible for teaching sixth grade language arts and social studies. During my five years with Horizon Japan I received numerous reviews and awards. In 2014, I received the ECIS award for teacher of the year. Unfortunately, after five wonderful years at Horizon, many of my certifications expired. I return to Virginia to renew my teaching certification at the end of the 2014 school year.
Since returning to Virginia in 2014, I've taken two semesters of college courses at University of Phoenix, and numerous state required seminars. I have also renewed my certifications in CPR , first aid, and life-saving as required by new state regulations. I have also received a position with the City of Fredericksburg substitute teaching. Finally, as of January 2015 I have for filled all of the state requirements, and renewed my elementary education certification for the state of Virginia.
Currently, I am seeking a full-time teaching position in elementary education. I am considering positions in the state of Virginia and internationally. I continue to keep my life flexible, making location less of a factor, and working environment, staff, and students the main focus in employment opportunities. I am a driven individual looking for a creative organization that pushes for an energetic and life affirming student body and staff. I wish to continue learning and perfecting my teaching skills while pushing students and staff to reach for their best.
I am a UK citizen with ten years experience teaching in China and Germany, with experience in IELTS, TOEIC, TOEFL. I have excellent references from two reputable universities in China. I hold a bachelor's degree in law. I have also extensive tutoring experience. I speak basic to intermediate Mandarin. I am looking for a full-time teaching position in Taiwan, preferably adults.

Hello,
I am looking for part-time or full-time work as an English teacher in the Xizhi, Yonghe, or Tucheng areas. I have been living and teaching in Taiwan for over five years, and I currently hold both an APRC and an Open Work Permit.
I believe in promoting a fun and encouraging, yet goal-oriented learning environment. In order to arouse the students’ interest in learning English, it has to be an enjoyable experience, but at the same time, they must know that their primary focus is learning. As such, I tend to focus on practice through fun and engaging games and activities.
I come with knowledge of many games and activities that test and develop students’ conversation, vocabulary, and grammar, as well as course materials that I have created, including supplemental grammar handouts and sixty-four hours of a special topics class, with topics like movies, music, and superheroes.
I have taught students ranging in age from 3 to 20 years, but am particularly skilled at teaching students aged between six and ten years, and as such I request that I only be considered for these classes.
I will gladly furnish my resume upon request, and I would also be happy to come in for a demo lesson.
Thank you for your consideration, and I look forward to hearing from you,

I love my work, and I work diligently.
If you would like a demonstration lesson (free of course), call me or send me a message. I will send you my resume, and then we can meet in a cafe to talk about your goals :-) I can check your English level and see what development you need and you can decide from there :-)

Hello!
My name is Greeny. I live in Taipei, Taiwan. Recently, I passed the training for teaching Chinese in 2014/11 since I love tutoring Chinese so much. This is my mother tongue. I am currently an office worker in Taiwan company. But, at the same time, I am also interested in teaching Chinese lessons. During the training days, I've learned some skills that are quite familiar with the way that I can teach the people (no age limit). Regarding to my work experiences that I will be good enough to start the tutoring class for those who are willing to learn Chinese language. I think learning Chinese with licensed teacher would be perfect for Chinese learners. Not only for teaching but also exchanging the cultures with each other. I believe that's a good chance for you and me to get to know the world better.
Let's start learning Chinese from today!
