OPENING: Teaching and Counseling Positions

HIA offers a competitive salary paid over 12 months and operates on an academic calendar that follows both Taiwanese and American holidays.

Currently seeking:
・HS College Counselor (Fulltime or Partime)
・Part-time Chinese Language Teachers - MOE Curriculum on grade level 7-10
・1 Part-time Music Teacher - Ocarina, Garage Band, Musical Performance

New Teaching Positions for the 2024-2025 School Year:​
・1 Full-Time MS/HS Mathematics Teacher
・1 Full-Time MS/HS Science Teacher (Chemistry background would be nice)
・1 Full-Time MS/HS English Language Arts Teacher
・1 Full-Time MS/HS Social Studies Teacher

Candidate Teacher Qualifications
Successful teacher candidates will have a teaching degree and/or a major with breadth and depth in the subject area to be taught as well as a teaching certification. Additionally, prospective teachers should demonstrate an understanding of and the ability to work with EAL (English as an Additional Language) students.

Education:
・Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education or a subject area of teaching.
・Certification/licensure/QTS in the subject and grade level to be taught. This certificate must be issued by an authorized agency in the teacher’s home country.
・Have completed sufficient college course work in their major teaching field.
・Broad working knowledge of progressive pedagogy, UDL, PBL, and SEL a plus.
・EAL/ESL certification/licensure a plus.

Experience:
・At least 2 years of experience in teaching of subject area classes preferred.
・International teaching experience a plus.
・Highly motivated Newly Qualified Teachers are encouraged to apply.

HIA teachers are expected to:
・Collaborate with their colleagues to develop, implement, and evaluate grade-level and school-wide plans related to teaching and learning.
・Attend and contribute to scheduled faculty meetings, curriculum planning sessions as well as department, grade-level and other such meetings.
・Lead advisory and life education learning programs that are at the heart of our institutional design.
・Sponsor at least one co-curricular activity or sport.

Position Details:
After one year of service, there may be opportunities for part-time teachers to transition into full-time positions. This is a great opportunity for those seeking to develop a long-term career in education.
