I have taken two semesters of Mandarin Chinese at my home university. I would like to speak well enough to hold conversations in Chinese. In the past, I focused heavily on text, and learning the meaning of individual characters--but I need a lot of work with pronunciation and grammar.
I also hold a deep interest in Chinese history, literature, philosophy, and calligraphy. It would be perfect to have a teacher who would want to talk about these things--but that desire is not necessary!
