I am an American studying and working in Taipei. I am looking for a tutor to further my Chinese studies. I already have a full year of Chinese language experience, so I have a mastery of the basics. I am looking for a tutor that can help me advance in both my speaking and listening comprehension. My goal is to have class at least once a week for two hours.

Hi ~ I have been learning Chinese for about 6 years and I took a break after having my baby last year. I have been following the books “A Course in Contemporary Chinese” and I am currently on Book 3. I am currently living in Linkou and would like someone to come teach either in my building (民富街）or in a coffee shop nearby. I prefer someone who is used to using these books also. My three children will be attending an all Chinese school soon. They have some background in Chinese, but they need a tutor to help them with practicing speaking and listening. They are 9, 8, & 6 years old. Their school is does not give homework, so the focus will be on speaking & listening, with some occasionally writing help. We live and Zhubei and hope to find someone who can meet at our home to tutoring. I hope to find someone that can teach Chinese by playing interactive games, or by just having fun.

Failed attempt No.1 trying again now ....................... I lost a battle and don't want to lose the war against Mandarin. Hi, I'm Mark. I am recently returning to Taipei after almost a decade in the States. I am looking for a language exchange or language classes with someone interested in things I am interested in — film, writing, education, arts. I’ve been teaching film arts and humanities in the university in Taiwan and the States since the late nineties (in English). Once upon a time, I was nominated for a Golden Bell and Golden Horse award in Taiwan. Also at one point, several years ago, I could read and write about 200 Chinese characters (that's down to about five now). I would like to improve my speaking/listening in Mandarin, and in exchange I can offer a great deal of English educational expertise and film/art experience (if we go the language exchange route). If we go the Mandarin-class route, I am interested in classes that assess my level, strengths and weaknesses in spoken-Chinese, perhaps some help in selecting materials and resources for self-study, and interesting conversation in film, arts, everyday life, and life in Taipei.
