Location: Taipei, Taiwan
Alphaville American School is a long-established early childhood and elementary program known for offering an American-style learning environment rather than a cram school or traditional ESL language center. Students learn English through immersion, interaction, creative projects, literacy activities, and real communication—not vocabulary drilling or worksheet-driven ESL instruction.
Our students are native Chinese speakers and are not expected to have prior English exposure. Teachers are encouraged to teach fully in English and support comprehension through modeling, visuals, hands-on activities, and classroom scaffolding. We value strong teacher–student relationships and a joyful classroom culture that supports both children and teachers.
Position: Native English-Speaking Teacher
We are seeking caring and enthusiastic teachers who enjoy working with young learners (K–G6) and who believe in helping students develop confidence, communication, curiosity, and creativity—not just language accuracy.
Responsibilities
• Teach English to Kindergarten–Grade 6 students
• Create a positive, engaging, and supportive classroom environment
• Use English as the primary language of instruction
• Encourage communication, creativity, and authentic language use
• Follow provided curriculum and collaborate with teaching team
Schedule & Compensation
• Salary: NT$750–850/hour
• Performance Bonus: NT$30,000 upon contract completion
• Work Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–4:00 PM
• Lunch Break: 2.5 hours daily
• Teaching Hours: ~15 hours/week
• Class Length: 30 minutes
• Class Size: Max 18 students
• Curriculum: Fully provided (integrated, subject-based program)
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or higher (Education preferred but not required)
• Teaching certificate/licensure preferred but not required
• Minimum 1 year of teaching experience (any age group)
• Native English speaker preferred
• Preferred passport holders: USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand
• ARC/APRC holders highly prioritized
Work Eligibility & Visa Requirements
To work legally in Taiwan, applicants must meet requirements for either an ARC/APRC or a professional work permit. Eligible categories include:
• ARC holders (employment/marriage/student conversion)
• APRC holders (permanent residency)
• Open Work Permit (via spousal ARC)
• Professional Work Visa sponsorship (degree + passport requirements)
We are unable to hire applicants who do not meet Taiwan’s Ministry of Education hiring criteria or who cannot legally work in Taiwan.
