The news is
good, and getting better. The basic story is turning into
that the Green/Yellow Lines will open first, hopefully now
within a month and the Blue Line after, maybe 3 or more
months.
Regarding
the Green/Yellow lines, the most heavily damaged station was the
Main Station. Speaking with the press office today, the Main
Station has been fully drained of water.
Engineers expect a one month repair process. They are
outlining a number of scenarios for getting these lines operational
again. The most popular one is to reconnect the stops, but
have the trains bypass the Main Station. That could get the
Green/Yellow Lines back up within a month.
The Blue
Line is another story. Long projections, initially as high
as six months, continue and the work goes
on.
