Hi, I'm Ed. Looking for a tutor to help me improve my Chinese further. Day-to-day wise, it's ok, but once a conversation go further, i'll begin to stumble. Honestly, I don't know the best way to tackle other than to practice speaking more. If someone has exercises they know that can be useful, that would be great. Hi I'm currently working in Taipei at a consumer electronics company and would like to have a daily Chinese tutor. I would like to focus on phrases I can use at work and also my pronunciation.

I'm really out of practice. I previously studied the Practical Audio Visual series until Book 4. I spent one semester at NTHU, two at Chinese Culture University's MLC and one semester at NTNU. However, I've been abroad for the last 3 years and haven't been practicing Chinese. My tones, writing and confidence have completely eroded. I teach English full time and have a lengthy commute so I'd only be available in the mornings or at weekends. It depends on the price of the classes as to how many classes I can have. I would like to stay in Taiwan for the long term and would like to work towards taking an exam. I'm hardworking, but enjoy fun and innovative classes.

Just moved here and realized I probably won't study on my own. I'm tired of eating at 7/11 and pointing to google maps in taxis. I'm looking for depth of study primarily in reading and writing mandarin, with some lesser emphasis on speaking and listening comprehension. I am an ABC living in Taipei City and I only have time for 1-3 hours of class time per week, and limited study time, because of a busy schedule. So I would like to be able to make the most of my class time and then self-study during the week. I am learning calligraphy (particularly ancient forms of calligraphy) as well and it would be helpful if my Chinese tutor can explain the meanings of some characters (why it has certain root characters, etc). as I find it helps me to remember better, and informs my calligraphy. I am interested to study characters by topic, and some flexibility in choosing topics of interest to me is a benefit. My goal is to become fluent in reading and writing on a basic level, and be able to carry on conversations with native speaking people about politics, social issues, global issues, etc. I'm available from 4:30-7:30pm in Banquiao or near my home near Dongmen MRT in Taipei City. I'm open to other locations but not far away from the travel route from Banquiao to Dongmen MRT. Thank you!
