I'm looking for depth of study primarily in reading and writing mandarin, with some lesser emphasis on speaking and listening comprehension. I am an ABC living in Taipei City and I only have time for 1-3 hours of class time per week, and limited study time, because of a busy schedule. So I would like to be able to make the most of my class time and then self-study during the week. I am learning calligraphy (particularly ancient forms of calligraphy) as well and it would be helpful if my Chinese tutor can explain the meanings of some characters (why it has certain root characters, etc). as I find it helps me to remember better, and informs my calligraphy. I am interested to study characters by topic, and some flexibility in choosing topics of interest to me is a benefit. My goal is to become fluent in reading and writing on a basic level, and be able to carry on conversations with native speaking people about politics, social issues, global issues, etc. I'm available from 4:30-7:30pm in Banquiao or near my home near Dongmen MRT in Taipei City. I'm open to other locations but not far away from the travel route from Banquiao to Dongmen MRT. Thank you!

Hi, I'm a visitor for 1 month (Jan 6 ~ Feb 4) in Kaohsiung city. I'm looking for a person who teach the Chinese for a month. Hi my family are coming to Taiwan for a month later this year. I am looking for a Mandarin tutor for my kids 7 and 10 for 2 hours a day, in the morning. Hello, I am already fluent in Mandarin, but my all of my studying has been on mainland China for the past several years. I can pass HSK 6 in the 90th percentiles. Now, I want to be able to pass TOCL, but I need to get used to traditional characters. I would be willing to meet very reguarly, two hours a day, 5-7 days a week. I can practice the reading at home, of course, so I am interested in more speaking practice, especially with an emphasis on Taiwan accent and culture, as I have only lived in mainland China and am new to Taiwan.
