Hello! I am looking to start taking Chinese lessons as soon as possible. I am a 23 year old English Teacher from the United States and I have lived in Tainan for 9 months. I think it is time for me to learn Chinese! I am at a little to zero level of the language right now. I would like to start with the basics as well as focusing on things like greetings, directions and ordering food. I have a lot of free time at the moment to focus on learning and practicing my Chinese.

Hello, The company I work for is looking for Chinese tutors to come to our office and offer private Chinese lessons for the 2 foreigners (1 American, 1 South African) that are employees. The Chinese level between the two is different. One is at an intermediate level and the other is at a beginner level. We are looking for teachers who are certified in Teaching Chinese and preferably have experience doing so. Ability to teach some Business Chinese is also a plus. I am a student at NTU who has been living in Taiwan for three years. I just finished a course at Chinese Language Division at NTU and will be beginning a course at the International Chinese Language Program next spring. I have some books of my own to practice with and could also prepare whatever the teacher recommends. My areas of interests are: news, society, media, politics, economics, business, history, arts, and culture. I am busy in the evenings because of my job, but free during the daytime.

I am going to be in Taipei for 3 weeks this summer (30th July - 20th August). I'd like to take the opportunity to brush up on my own Mandarin, which I last learnt systematically about 10 years ago ... I'm not quite back to total beginner, but not far off that! I was thinking it would be good to find a tutor who could meet me for a shortish lesson most week day mornings (e.g. 45 mins - 1 hour). I am based in Da'an, and will be near the National Taiwan Normal University each day so that would be a convenient neighbourhood to meet up.
