I have a solid foundation in classic Chinese according to my good performance in the subject, so I'd been working as a Chinese tutor to teach local teenagers almost throughout my college years. After I graduated, I worked as a Japanese editor/translator in a media company. Hello,
I just graduated from my MA in London in 2017, studied about spatial design.
I met a couple of good friends from European countries, and surprisingly they were quite interested in Asian culture also language, so that was where I started tutoring Chinese aside my study.
I found that by teaching language I could share my culture to all over the world, and exchange different perspectives of life in a very rewarding way.
As soon as I came back to Taiwan, I signed up the Chinese teaching training course offered by Mandarin Training Center, National Taiwan Normal University, and got certificate fortunately! The course enforced my language teaching ability, also backed up some very critical and fundamental study of Chinese itself.
I have a clear strategy of language teaching, by talking through the short-term and long-term goal set up by individuals. I believe that the dynamic teaching environments will enrich the word-sense when leaning a second language. I usually invite students come out of the classroom, and join me to an exhibition or some places where they wish to visit. I hope I can teach someone who can speak freely in a daily basis.
I am pleased to join the group of tutoring Chinese, and hopefully I will build up more connections with people who like to exchange thoughts, ideas and our cultures.
Thank you for the viewing.

Hi, My name is Pearl Chen, I'm available to tutor Chinese (Mandarin). I've more than 8 years working experience, and I'm familiar with different styles of conversation and writing and aware of the differences between words. Recently, I've been practicing translation process, and I realised that Chinese grammar is more difficult than English. Also, I feel that Chinese pronunciation is hard, especially tones, so we could work on it, or anything else that you'd like to improve.
