I am a 26 year old Taiwanese American living in the US seeking employment as an English teacher in Taiwan. I am a native English speaker having lived in the US all my life. I am at the professional proficiency level in Mandarin Chinese and exceptionally fluent in Taiwanese as well, having been exposed to the Taiwanese language and culture from family. I graduated from the University of California Irvine with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Chinese Studies with an emphasis in Chinese Language and Literature. If offered a full-time job in Taiwan, I am willing to move to Taiwan and begin working immediately. I am passionate about teaching English, especially to Mandarin speakers. Having learned the language myself and going through education in the US, I would like to utilize my skills taught to me by my teachers and teach people in Taiwan who want to learn English to be fluent with proper grammar and pronunciation. Not only am I able to teach the English language, I am also able to combine different techniques and perceptions of teaching, including cultural references from both Taiwan and Western countries, so students may better understand English.
