I have over seven years experience teaching in the cram/buxiban school system here in Taiwan. I'm looking for a fresh and exciting challenge. I'm ideally looking to join a school in a district of Taipei, but I would be willing to commute to New Taipei if an interesting position arose. I’m a British national (Scottish) and I’ve recently successfully completed a CELTA course here in the UK, ( - at Basil Paterson language school, Edinburgh, July ’16). I am now keen to teach English to teens /young adults /adult learners in China /Asia, which I would like to do for at least a minimum of one year, though hopefully this would extend to two or three years. Teaching experience gained on the CELTA course gave us 6 hours of teaching practice in a real classroom situation with young adults mainly from Europe, and I am now keen to expand on this by working with a permanent class. I do have some 15 years experience of working overseas in my career to date ( - i.e. I was a chartered Civil Engineer and have worked extensively in Africa, the Middle East and Asia) – and as such I have no apprehensions of working /living in a foreign environment.
