THE SCHOOL:
A family of well-established schools based in Taiwan’s Taichung County is searching for 1 additional foreign teacher. We currently employ several foreign teachers and over 100 Taiwanese teachers. Within our group of schools we have 4 kindergartens and 3 cram schools (buxiban).

THE LOCATION:
Our schools are based in and around the historic and religious town of Dajia, just outside Taichung City. Dajia, home to the Matzu festival (one of the world’s largest!), is a vibrant, small town renowned for its street food. Its central location on the island and impressive network of public transport allows for easy access to Taichung and Taipei. It is a short drive from both the mountain area and the coast.

THE POSITION:
My employer is looking for new teachers to join our team ASAP. Our headquarter located in Dajia and we have two branches which are located in Qingshui and Fengyuan. We’re just north of Taichung City in Taiwan! We are searching for talented and energetic people that are comfortable and confident around young learners. The position comes with a number of duties including approximately thirty hours of classroom instruction per week, lesson planning and grading. This is an exciting position with a set curriculum and materials provided. However, individual style is encouraged. Our foreign teachers are not for show, we expect them to share the responsibility of educating our students with their Taiwanese partners.

REMUNERATION:
My employer offers a decent salary of 55,000 a month for part time teachers, 65,000 a month for full time teachers and furnished accommodation (A large shared house with our teachers sharing living spaces but with their own rooms). As a bonus, all staff gets 40,000 upon completion of the yearly contract. In other words, which is a round-trip ticket.
Part time teachers are required to be at work by 8:30 A.M. and stay until 6:30 P.M. Monday through Friday. Full time teachers are required to be at work by 1:50 P.M. and stay until 9:00 P.M. Monday through Friday. The actual teaching hours are approximately 30, and if classes are cancelled, it doesn’t affect our pay. The rest of the time is for lesson planning and admin.
My employer provides an ARC so applicants must be from the U.K., U.S.A., Canada, Ireland and Australia.
