I am currently learning Chinese at Shida University, but I feel that my class is not a suitable level for my ability, it offers no challenge. I am looking to seriously improve my Chinese. I am looking to have a class for three hours once a week, and I don't want to be taught straight out of a mandarin center textbook, though using text books as supplementary material is fine so long as it's not the focus of the class. I want to focus on conversation and building vocabulary, as my grammar is already not bad, vocabulary is what I lack the most. I also want to spend one hour of our class on reading and writing. So first 2 hours, conversation and vocabulary building, 3rd hour reading and writing. I can already read and write quite a few characters, but not enough to really read a book or even a menu completely, so I would like to improve. Depending on schedule, when I finish at Shida I may be interested in adding another day of class. Thanks!
